Awards and HonorsProf. Özlem Keskin, Chemical and Biological Engineering, has been elected to the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). EMBO, one of Europe’s most prestigious molecular biology organizations, shapes the direction of science worldwide with over 2,000 members, including Nobel Prize-winning researchers. The organization supports exceptional researchers who have achieved remarkable success in their fields, and Turkey has five members among them.
Renowned for her promising work on essential diseases such as neurodegeneration and cancer, Prof. Özlem Keskin focuses on protein-protein and protein-drug interactions.
Keskin is conducting research on the computer modeling and simulation of cells, investigating the responses of these models to various signals. She examines the changes in the signals sent by proteins and investigates the fundamental behaviors within cells in disease conditions. Based on these dynamics, she conducts research from an engineering perspective to explore potential solutions for treatment.
